hibiscus heaven

afternoon all...
well we've had sun this morning.. but all of a sudden its gone dark and we've just been hit with hail... what is going on with this bizarre weather... I want the sun back please...

anyhoo... back to hibiscus heaven... I ADORE these stamps from Sheena Douglass.. so I knew when I made the mono print background I wanted to use these stamps as my main image...
not gonna go into the details of the how's to make this... as I showed this in my previous blog post...

so here is my 2nd card using the mono printing from an acrylic block technique shown in craft stamper magazine...

I used Archival ink from
Wendy Vecchi and distress stain... and added texture with craft paste... the hibiscus is cut out and shaped to add dimension... the sentiment was a freebie in this months craft stamper magazine...

The finished card.... (cant wait to change my phone so I can take better pics)
Im entering this into the take it make it challenge HERE

thank you for your visit..
come back again soon

Afternoon all..

I saw the current take it make it challenge in craft stamper magazine, I've just been so busy I haven't had time to play till now..
The theme is mono printing on an acrylic block.. So here is my make on this challenge..
I started with a layer of distress paints on my acrylic block.. Dried them and added a 2nd layer with pebeo paints..

Next I stencilled my flowers using a stencil from my stash (make escapes me. Could be crafters workshop not 100% sure of that tho) I used archival black first.. Heat set it then I painted out the flowers with a light acrylic.. Dried it and then stencilled the other part of the flower with vermillion archival ...
I stamped my Sheena Douglass sentiment in black archival and clear heat embossed it

I added interest with some partial stamping of background stamps (again these are clear stamps from my stash and I've no idea who's they are) I used archival watering can..  The stitch border is also from the same set of clear stamps I used.. I edged with black distress paint..
I used and embossing folder on the black border and covered with silver pebeo gilding wax..
I painted in the leaves with bundled sage distress paint..

So there you have it my mono printed 6x6 card...

Today is the day!

Well today at 3pm Sheena will be showcasing these beautiful butterfly and floral stamps... I will be watching as I know the demos will be as amazing as ever and I never stop learning from the lady who pretty much got me into craft..

Here are my final samples...

Using distress ink H2o's and silks..

This one is  all h2os ... I splodged onto tissue papers which I layered on top of scrunched up and crinkled masking tape.. Just gives the background a little more texture..  The butterfly is simply stunning and a joy to colour.. The 2 butterflies on each plate layer over each other if you wish to do so... Fiona has posted a sample on her blog today showing this.. You can find Fiona's blog along with the rest of the inkoids HERE

The card is done using a masking technique and I used distress ink and ice silk..

So there you have it... I'm really looking forward to the show at 3pm ( sky 671) hope you can join us too!

Oh butterfly where for art tho

Morning one and all..
Today is the day before you can get your mitts on these awesome new butterfly stamps from Sheena Douglass..
All my samples I've show cased are 8x8 so you can now get an idea just how big and beautiful these butterflies are..
Think I will show you 2 more of my samples... Shhhh don't tell Mrs D

1st one...

For this I used distress inks and archival ink.. Oh and h2o's (you knew they'd be in there somewhere lol)
Just splodging on colour on an acrylic block..
No big butterfly on this one, ( the small butterflies are from a previous SD release.. I used them coz I love em!)
but this branch is fabulous it comes bare so you can decorate it with buds n flowers or anything you like!

Again I used the branch.. This time on craft card.. This one is such a quick simple card.. Using a little vintage photo.. And dusty concord distress ink and some clear embossing powder.. The body of 'Herman' the butterfly is black alcohol pen.. I used my speccies.. (which I'm absolutely loving.. I've been playing with them ... You'll see the results on the next release of stamps :-) e I know I'm a tease! Haha.. Sorry  ( you'll love those stamps toooooooo... Shhh I didn't say a thing!)

Reet.. Hope you can join the fabulous Mrs D tomorrow on create and craft TV sky 671 at 3pm... Only one show.. I thought it was a weekender deal but I was wrong.. So miss it..miss out!

sneak peek 2

quick post from me today.. here is another of my samples from the very fabulous new release (3pm Saturday create and craft tv sky channel 671) from Sheena Douglass..

this was made using very vibrant inks (not my usual H2o's) and some spellbinders cog dies.. I used pebeo gilding wax to make the kraft card look like metal and it does (in the flesh... no so much in this picture)

thank you for your visit..
